Deutsche Telekom said yesterday that Greece will sell another 10 percent of its shares in former state-controlled operator Hellenic Telecom (OTE) to the German firm for around EUR400 million, reports Dow Jones Newswires. After the transaction, Deutsche Telekom will hold 40 percent plus one share of OTE’s voting rights, while the Greek state will only hold 10 percent plus one vote. The sale is part of a plan by the Greek government to pay down its huge debts. Telekom bought a 30 percent stake in OTE in 2008 and granted Greece the right to sell another 10 percent.
