Justin Springham - Managing Editor
Justin manages the editorial content for the GSMA’s Mobile World Live media service – the industry’s most popular business news publication with a global team of reporters. In the last few years Justin has launched and grown a portfolio of premier media products, which include the Mobile World Congress show daily publications (Mobile World Daily), the award-winning broadcast service of Mobile World Congress (Mobile World Live TV) and a bespoke research and analysis service (Mobile World Live Insight). He started his career in telecoms journalism in 1999 as deputy editor of Mobile Europe. Since then he has launched and edited numerous telecoms publications, previously serving as senior European editor of Unstrung (now Light Reading Mobile). He is also an experienced television presenter and event moderator. Justin has a BA (Hons) degree in Journalism from the University of Sheffield. @SpringhamJustin
Kavit Majithia - Senior Editor
Kavit joined Mobile World Live in May 2015 as Content Editor. He started his journalism career at the Press Association before joining Euromoney’s graduate scheme in April 2010. Here, he gained vast experience reporting on telecoms and technology for Capacity magazine, leaving the publication as news editor in November 2014 after more than four years. Following a brief stint at Edelman PR working on short-term projects for Ericsson and Samsung, Kavit is now back in the world of journalism, reporting across all of Mobile World Live’s media services. @KavitMajithia
Joseph has covered the Asian market for Mobile World Live since August 2014. Before joining the GSMA, Joseph was group editor for Telecom Asia for more than ten years. In addition to writing features, news and blogs, he drove the overall editorial strategy for the flagship print publication as well as regular print/online supplements and newsletters. He successfully guided the publication through a shift in business model, as the majority of Telecom Asia’s advertising revenue became generated from online services rather than print. He also worked for more than two decades in Asia as an editor for business publications and websites, with experience at a web startup in 2000, R&D Magazine, Global Sources and the Bangkok Post. @telecomwaring
Chris joined the Mobile World Live team in November 2016 having previously worked at a number of UK media outlets including Trinity Mirror, The Press Association and UK telecoms publication Mobile News. After spending 10 years in journalism, he moved to telecoms PR as a content specialist producing white papers and marketing collateral for some of the biggest names in the mobile sector. Now working as Content Editor across all channels of the MWL portfolio, Chris produces news and in-depth features on key issues from across the industry. @ChrisDonkin1
Mike Robuck is the U.S. Editor at Mobile World Live. He joined the Mobile World Live staff in February of 2022. Prior to joining GSMA, he was editor of FierceTelecom and of Light Reading’s Telco Transformation microsite. He has a long history of reporting on the telecommunications industry.
Prior to joining GSMA, Hana has worked in the world of publishing as an editor and contributor for three years, covering a wide range of interests that span from culture and politics to architecture. She has written for Jakarta- and London-based publications, interviewing many influential figures across different industries along the way. With the scale of growth and innovation in the telecommunications industry, Hana is excited for her new journalistic prospects in this thriving sector. As a new addition to the GSMA family, she will be contributing to the media team in publishing industry-specific insights and reporting stories that make a change.
Michael doesn’t want to admit that he has been a journalist and editor for close to 20 years covering a diverse set of subjects including shipping and shipbuilding, fixed and mobile telecoms, and motorcycling. He joins Mobile World Live as sub-editor following several years as a freelancer, during which time he worked as the managing editor for Fierce Markets’ European wireless newsletter and editor on TelecomsEMEA.net (published by Questex Asia), and produced a range of feature articles and reports covering sectors including connected cars, IP Exchange (IPX), premium rate services and mobile ticketing for companies including Telecom Asia, mobileSquared and Netsize. Michael previously held various roles as reporter and editor with Informa Telecoms & Media, and as a reporter on Motorcycle News (MCN) – the UK’s largest and oldest weekly motorcycling newspaper. @M_J_Carroll
Rick Costello - General Manager
Rick joined the GSMA in 2004 to manage the organisation’s research services. After taking over the publishing of the Mobile World Congress Show Daily (Mobile World Daily) in 2007, he and Justin launched the GSMA’s digital news service, Mobile World Live (then called Mobile Business Briefing). In addition to Mobile World Live, Rick is responsible for a number of the GSMA’s commercial operations including GSMA Intelligence and coverage mapping services. He has worked in technology marketing and publishing for over 25 years for organisations including McCann Erickson, Grey Advertising and DigitasLBi, specialising in the telecommunications sector.
Ashley Windsor – Sales Director
Ashley joined Mobile World Live as Sales Director in March 2019, bringing more than 10 years of media sales experience to the role. Ashley has worked with a number of tier one B2B brands on cross-platform marketing solutions, ranging from display through to co-created content. Career highlights include eight years at the Financial Times, heading up media partnerships, and sales roles at Guardian Group. Alexis Cope – Senior Marketing Manager
Alexis joined MWL in November 2020, with more than 15 years experience in publishing and media across the US and UK. Most recently leading regional B2B and B2C marketing and brand partnerships in EMEA for Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal, Alexis has extensive experience devising and executing strategic, practical, and customer-focused programs for a wide range of products, services and industries. She is a proud mother of two, passionate coffee drinker, and lover of all things cooking and traveling.
Sharon Boland - Production Manager
Sharon has almost two decades of experience in publishing and events, most recently serving as Project Manager (for seven years) for the GSMA’s various major exhibitions (including Mobile World Congress). Her new role as Production Manager for the GSMA’s Mobile World Live (MWL) service sees her take these first-class organisational skills into the planning, delivery and execution of all video elements for MWL. Sharon started her new role in September 2017 but is no stranger to MWL – her previous Project Manager position at the GSMA saw Sharon play a key role in the delivery of Mobile World Live TV and the production of the Broadcast Village at many Mobile World Congress events. Prior to her career at the GSMA Sharon also spent seven years at event and publishing business EMAP, across awards, conference and exhibition delivery.
Sarah Lovesy - Media Operations Manager
Sarah joined the Mobile World Live team in July 2021. Before joining GSMA, Sarah worked as a Production Manager in print publishing, gaining more than 10 years experience in the publishing and media industry. She is excited to take on her new role in the digital media world.
Trevor Skinner - Senior Director, Digital
Trevor has worked for the GSMA since Feb 2000 and has over 35 years’ experience within marketing & communications. Starting as GSMA Webmaster, designing and developing all online sites & materials as well as handling all company related I.T. matters. As Senior Digital Director, his role includes responsibility for the definition and technical direction of the Mobile World Live products, including webinars, live streaming events and mobile applications. Trevor’s responsibilities also include management of external partnerships for the development of Mobile World Live. Trevor is a qualified Electronics Engineer to BEng (Hons) degree. @trevorskinner
