Japanese vendor NEC has announced an expanded national WiMAX base station deal with domestic service provider UQ Communications. “UQ Communications has revised its WiMAX base station installation plan for the 2009 fiscal year from 4,000 to more than 6,000 base stations by the end of March 2010,” noted NEC in a statement. NEC is one of two base station suppliers to UQ.
