The Supreme Court of Canada has given the green light for a CAD19 billion (US$18.4 billion) class action to proceed against several Canadian mobile operators for the so-called "system access fees" they used to levy on top of phone plans. According to Reuters, the suit claims that the operators engaged in "unjust enrichment" in charging "system access fees" or "license administration fees" on top of regular monthly fees. Canada’s three main mobile operators, Rogers, Telus and Bell, are named in the suit.
