Samsung had to temporarily halt sales of paid products from its Samsung Apps store in its home market of South Korea, due to changes in the method it uses to identify customers.

In a developer blog post, it said that to comply with new regulations, it needs access to other personal means of identification as well as the resident registration numbers used previously.

In order to do this, it has created a new payment SDK, which is incompatible with that used to previously enable paid app services.

The company has already made available the SDK for Android, although the version for the company’s own Bada platform has yet to appear – meaning that paid sales are currently still not supported on this OS.
