The GSMA has announced the apps that have been nominated for the Global Mobile Awards 2012. The categories are Best Mobile App for Consumers, Best Mobile App for Enterprise, Best Overall Mobile App and Most Innovative Mobile App.

The nominees for Best Mobile App for Consumers are: Facebook for Facebook Messenger, Outfit7 for Talking Tom Cat, Rovio Mobile for Angry Birds Rio, Yobonja for Blast Monkeys and Zynga for Hanging with Friends.

Nominees for Best Mobile App for Enterprise are: Cisco for Cisco AnyConnect, Citrix Online for GoToMeeting, Citrix Systems for Citrix Receiver, SouthLabs for SharePlus: SharePoint Mobile Client and Square Inc for Square.

For the Best Overall Mobile App category, Evernote, Flipboard, GoogleMaps, LinkedIn and WhatsApp have been shortlisted.

biNU, Enterproid’s Divide, Google Wallet, Metaswitch Networks’ Thrutu, Shazam App and TouchType’s Fluency for SwiftKety X have made the running for Most Innovative Mobile App.

The awards will be announced at the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress which runs from 27 February to 1 March.
