BlackBerry and T-Mobile US announced a new partnership to offer BlackBerry Classic to customers of the US number four operator, after a previous high-profile split between the companies.

In a statement yesterday, John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile US, said: “People who love BlackBerry smartphones and want to use one of America’s fastest nationwide 4G LTE networks now have that choice.”

BlackBerry and T-Mobile had a high-profile fall-out in April last year, with BlackBerry head John Chen stating that “at this time, our strategies are not complimentary”. The move came shortly after the operator ran a promotion intended to lure BlackBerry device owners to Apple’s iPhone line.

Chen has forgiven Legere. “Together with T-Mobile, we hope to deliver highly differentiated solutions that appeal to our mutual users: the power professionals who depend on their smartphones to get things done and make things happen,” Chen said.

BlackBerry Classic is available for $0 down and $18.33 for 24 months; full price is $439.92.
