Light Reading Mobile reports that Motorola Computer Group and partners want US$50.6 million in broadband stimulus funding to build a LTE network that would expand broadband services for emergency responders, but also offer faster connections for residential and business users. The report notes that the Motorola bid is one of the key wireless applications in the second round of applications for funding from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The NTIA said Wednesday that it has received almost US$11 billion in applications for its US$2.6 billion pot of money for broadband projects.
