Deutsche Telekom is reported to be eyeing Belgacom, with the Germany-based giant having approached the Belgian government to see if it is interested in the sale of part of its 53.5 percent stake, Reuters said. Belgium is currently in a state of political instability, however, which is likely to slow the progress of a transaction – although the country needs to cut its national debt. Belgacom’s Proximus is the largest mobile operator in Belgium.
