Yahoo! has partnered with T-Mobile UK to provide targeted display adverts on the operator’s Web ‘n’ Walk mobile Internet service. The deal now gives the search company access to two of the UK’s main mobile operators, following a similar arrangement struck with Vodafone last April.

This latest deal furthers Yahoo!’s recent efforts in the mobile space. Earlier this month the company said it will offer Internet services that work on existing phones rather than seek to compete with mobile software of its own. Over the past year Yahoo! has also tied up with Telefonica, America Movil and nine Asian operators to provide its OneSearch mobile service in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Yahoo! believes that the mobile medium presents major opportunities for the advertising and search industries. Jupiter Research claims the European mobile advertising market will reach €1.3 billion in 2012, whilst the Nielsen Company today revealed that 46 million mobile data users in the US used mobile search tools in Q3 of 2007.
