T-Mobile is reported to be about to launch its 3G network in the United States. A T-Mobile source told The Inquirer, a UK-based technology publication, that the company would launch its 3G service “on or before December 6.”
If the rumours prove true, T-Mobile will find itself in direct 3G competition with Sprint Nextel, Verizon and AT&T. Services are likely to be launched in either the 1700 or 2100 MHz bands, potentially covering 474 million people.
