Nokia’s move into the content space took another step forward this morning with the announcement that the handset vendor has struck a European-wide content deal with T-Mobile. Under the terms of the agreement, T-Mobile will make Nokia’s ‘Ovi’ mobile Internet portal available to its subscribers, while Nokia has committed to developing handsets for the operator that can access both Ovi and Web’n’Walk, T-Mobile’s own mobile content portal. The deal is particularly geared towards mobile social networking, and the companies have committed to support T-Mobile’s community service, MyFaves, which was launched last October. An exclusive T-Mobile handset – the Nokia 6550 – is due to launch in Europe in July.

According to Reuters, Nokia has already inked similar deals with other European operators, including Telefonica, Orange, Telecom Italia and Vodafone. Nokia has also focussed heavily on its Comes With Music service this year, signing deals with both Universal and Sony BMG for content.
