Orange CEO Christel Heydemann underlined the importance of the recently completed merger of its Spanish business with Masmovil during the company’s Q1 results statement, where the operator also highlighted continued growth in its MEA business.

Michael Trabbia, CEO of Orange’s wholesale division made it clear the operator is not bound to one technology and satellite is very much part of its solutions offering, but played down how big the segment could prove for the telco sector overall.

On the back of Mobile World Live's first monthly topic panel, the team attempt to settle the debate around the threat of satellite to telcos and catch-up with the CEOs of space player Lynk Global and operator Orange Wholesale to discuss the state of play in the segment. 

Orange and online education provider Coursera launched free certification training programmes for entrepreneurs and young people in Africa and the Middle East, with a focus on emerging technology areas including AI and cybersecurity. 

Google Cloud expanded a partnership with Orange to include generative AI use cases designed to improve customer experiences and keep sensitive data within national bounds.

Orange Spain and Masmovil completed a joint venture with the newly-created entity officially entering into operation, forming an operator the pair claimed has the largest customer base in the country.

Orange Business pushed out two generative AI offerings covering infrastructure and applications, a move it claims supports enterprises’ deployment of the technology and development of use cases.
