Nokia is this week expected to launch its anticipated 41 megapixel camera phone powered by Windows Phone, which has been referred to in recent weeks as the Lumia 1020.

According to speculation, it will also feature 32GB of onboard storage, and 2GB of RAM (which is increasingly common in high-end smartphones). Also anticipated is an updated camera app, although it is not known what new features this will bring.

Lumia 1020 is also anticipated to include the same optical image stabilisation technology used in the Lumia 900 series. As previously reported, it will enable the simultaneous capture of 32 megapixel (or 35 megapixel in some reports) and 5 megapixel images, providing online sharing and high-quality versions.

WPCentral also said that a camera booster accessory will be available, including additional battery, tripod mount and dedicated shutter button, making it feel more like a traditional camera when in use.

It will also come with a variety of body colours, including yellow, black and white, but will not feature a metallic finish.

WPCentral said that US operator AT&T had added Lumia 1020 to its internal inventory list.

The device is expected to be at priced at a premium.
