Mobile social gaming network PapayaMobile and mobile ad network Tapjoy have linked up to create a social marketplace for Android developers. The plan is to combine Papaya’s social community with Tapjoy’s in-app market to generate recommendations for games based on their popularity with users’ friends on Papaya’s social network.

The marketplace is intended to help players discover games and allow more relevant ads to be targeted to them. Developers will benefit from improved user engagement and increased monetisation of their apps, according to the companies.

"Our entire business is built around delivering as much value to consumers as possible, and clearly there's considerable value in helping them discover new games based on what their friends are playing," said Tapjoy President and CEO Mihir Shah.

In order to use the service – which will go live by the end of the year – developers will need to integrate the Papaya Social SDK and Tapjoy Publisher SDK into their apps.
