Dow Jones reports that, contrary to recent market speculation, software giant Microsoft has no plans to launch a branded mobile device. It was rumoured yesterday that Microsoft was readying a smartphone based on hardware from Nvidia that would possibly incorporate Microsoft’s Zune music device. Such a product would compete directly with Apple’s iPhone.
