Bangladesh’s Grameenphone has reported an 8 percent rise in its first-quarter revenues to BDT1,700 crore (US$241 million), while net profit rose 38 percent to  BDT316 crore (US$44.7 million). According to Cellular News, the operator added 645,000 new subscriptions during the quarter, bringing its total subscription base to 23.9 million, representing about 44 percent of the country’s mobile market.
