Display technology company Graphics Properties Holdings (GPH) is suing Apple, HTC, LG Electronics, RIM, Samsung and Sony in the US for violating three of its patents, reports the BBC. The legal action concerns technology that converts text and images for screen displays, and wide aspect ratio LCD screens with high resolution displays. Devices alleged to have contravened GPH’s intellectual property are Apple’s iPhone, the LG Thrill, HTC EVO4G, BlackBerry Torch and PlayBook, Samsung Galaxy S and SII and Sony’s Xperia Play. GPH was formed from the remnants of Silicon Graphics after it filed for bankruptcy in 2009.
