Electronista, citing a Forbes report, claims that US operator MetroPCS has tapped China’s ZTE to make smartphones for its upcoming LTE network. MetroPCS has previously said it plans to launch LTE in the second half of 2010 and that mobile phones using the standard would first show in late 2010 or the start of 2011.
