The threat of legal action could delay the UK’s planned radio spectrum auction next year which is aiming to release capacity for LTE networks, reports Cellular News, citing an article in the Financial Times. The possibility of legal action comes from two of the country’s mobile networks, Vodafone and O2, and the dominant landline operator, BT. The regulator has planned to auction off the proposed LTE spectrum in the first half of 2011, but any threat of legal action by Vodafone and O2 could delay its revamp of the mobile licenses – and push back the date for the spectrum auction.
