Reuters reports that Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said yesterday it is fair for the US government to ask whether handset exclusivity deals should have time limits. AT&T and Verizon Wireless are reported to be at the centre of an informal FCC review of the exclusive arrangements that limit handsets such as Apple’s iPhone to particular operators. Meanwhile, Hesse offered little detail on whether Deutsche Telekom could make a bid for Sprint. “I don’t know if it’s going to happen or if it’s necessary,” he said. “It’s a healthy, growing industry with growth potential.”
