Movistar Chile, Telefonica’s subsidiary in the Latin American country, picked Nokia Siemens Networks as a HSPA+ technology supplier, to “improve its network capacity and performance, and prepare for next-generation mobile broadband, LTE.” The HSPA+ upgrade will deliver peak download speeds of 21Mbit/s and peak upload speeds of 5.8Mbit/s, and will also increase network capacity to support an increased mobile broadband subscriber base.
