UK market leader Everything Everywhere has continued to streamline its senior management team, announcing that a further 22 director-level roles are to be cut.

The move follows on from an earlier management reshuffle, and is part of the operator’s ongoing efforts to streamline its leadership which it inherited as part of the merger between the UK arms of Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile) and France Telecom (Orange).

A Financial Times report notes that the “rationalisation of the top-heavy management” at the operator has been a priority for CEO Olaf Swantee (pictured), who joined as chief executive this summer with “a mandate to accelerate the cost-cutting benefits of the merger.”

“Following a senior management review, Everything Everywhere has a new management structure to support the company as it transitions from integrating two businesses to a new phase focused on accelerating the delivery of the corporate ambitions,” a spokesman told the newspaper.

Those leaving the group include Emin Gurdenli, vice-president of networks; Ben Messore, vice-president of strategy; and Lysa Hardy, vice-president of propositions.

The 22 job losses come from the 125 directors that report into the senior leadership team, which itself lost six members in the first round of the management shake-up two months ago.
