Germany’s Siemens said this week it won’t publicly float Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), its network joint venture with Nokia, this year. “An initial public offering for NSN isn’t scheduled for 2011,” the firm’s CFO Joe Kaeser said in an interview with German TV station Deutsches Anleger Fernsehen. “First, there aren’t any plans to bring NSN to the market, and second, it would hypothetically be seen as a bit early.” Kaeser had earlier said that an IPO would be “a possible mid-term option” for NSN. Fresh private-equity investment is understood to be a more attractive option.
