TeliaSonera and Telenor appointed three execs, including CEO Hilde Tonne, to run their merged operation in Denmark, which is awaiting approval by the European Commission.

In addition to Tonne (pictured), Soren Abildgaard was named as Deputy CEO and Dennis Kilian as CFO of the proposed entity.

Earlier this month, the EC pressed the two operators for greater concessions if they want the Danish merger to go ahead, having opened an in-depth investigation in April.  The merger would reduce the number of operators in the country from four to three.

The two operators say the new executives will take up their positions once the joint venture is approved, which they expect in the second half of 2015.

In the meantime, Tonne will lead a small team based in Copenhagen, preparing for the merger of the two Danish units.

Of the three executives, Tonne is the ‘newcomer’ to Denmark, arriving from Telenor Group’s top management team. Abildgaard and Kilian both work for Telia Denmark, as CEO and CFO, respectively. As Deputy CEO, Abildgaard will have responsibility for brands, channels and marketing.
