Deutsche Telekom is to bundle Spotify into selected tariffs from October, in a deal it claims makes it the pioneering music streaming service’s exclusive partner in Germany.

The deal will allow subscribers to stream Spotify’s Premium service via mobile devices, tablet and PCs – with usage not deducted from any data volumes included in the subscription, allowing unlimited use.

The first mobile tariff with an integrated Premium account will debut in October costing EUR30. It will be available as an add-on option for approximately EUR10 for Deutsche Telekom's fixed line and mobile customers later in the year.

The EUR10 price point makes the offer comparable to buying a Premium subscription from Spotify directly. The Premium service offers unlimited listening, no advertising and superior audio quality compared to the free version (which is also not accessible from mobile devices).

The Spotify app can be downloaded for a wide range of devices, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

The exclusive agreement between the pair will be valid for a year.

"Music streaming is the business model of the future, and we are proud to be the first German telecoms provider to offer our customers the pleasure of unlimited music as part of our tariffs,” said Deutsche Telekom’s Niek Jan van Damme.
