A subscription service app for Big Fish Games has been removed from Apple’s App Store after being available for just over a week, reports Bloomberg. The service allowed iPad users to have access to all Big Fish Games titles for a fee of US$6.99 per month and there are plans to bring the app to smartphones and tablets running Android.

Big Fish founder Paul Thelen told Bloomberg that the company was notified by Apple that the app was being removed and is trying to follow up with the company to find out the reason for the move. He added that the app had been officially approved after Big Fish had worked closely with Apple to make sure it met the requirements for recurring monthly charges through App Store.

Big Fish was founded in 2002 and generated US$140 million in sales in 2010 from games downloaded to PCs and mobile devices.
