India’s home ministry is set to give security clearance to Norway’s Telenor to lift its stake in its Indian subsidiary, Unitech Wireless, to 74 percent, reports Telecompaper, citing India’s Economic Times. India’s Foreign Investment Promotion Board had previously deferred a decision on allowing Telenor to raise its stake in view of the security agencies’ reservations regarding the Norwegian firm’s strong presence in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
