Google has merged its Checkout service used to pay for apps in the Android Market with its recently launched Wallet, in a move towards uniting online payments with those in the physical world. “We’re also starting to integrate Google Wallet as the payment method on Android Market, YouTube, Google+ Games and many other Google sites”, the company said in a blog post.  Current users of Google Checkout can automatically move their accounts across to Google Wallet. The extent of Checkout’s popularity was unclear since Google never released any numbers for the service.
