Samsung launched its “Pan-European Developer engagement programme”, which it said is aimed at “fostering opportunities for developers keen to benefit from a closer working relationship with Samsung across Europe”.

In a statement, the smartphone number one said that “various levels of engagement are available, but all offer improved channels of communication with Samsung for a more collaborative application development style”.

The company is promising a range of benefits for developers looking for early access to its software and devices.

In addition to tools, the company also said that “to help get your app noticed, we can offer promotion and marketing support on multiple platforms to make sure your content is seen by the right audience”.

Membership is free, although participants must have an up-to-date Samsung Developers account; must primarily do business within the EU; and must complete a registration survey.

However, the company also said that places are limited and that priority will be given to developers “producing high quality apps that make use of Samsung specific device features”.
