Mobile games maker Pixowl has secured US$1.2 million in funding to expand its portfolio of games based on its popular Doodle Grub title, reports Venturebeat. Pixowl founder Arthur Madrid said the developer’s use of creative character design and story make its games stand out from rival titles. Madrid plans to diversify into other products related to the games, such as toys, comic books and web videos, in a similar way as Rovio has done with Angry Birds.
