Cloud-based developer tools company appMobi announced the addition of four mobile web services to its “comprehensive platform-as-a-service mobile app ecosystem solution.”  The company said that the new services – “1Touch frictionless payments, pushMobi multimedia push notifications, statMobi mobile analytics and LiveUpdates over-the-air app updates – join a “comprehensive suite of tools enabling any developer to create engaging and monetisable mobile apps, enable mobile commerce and analyse usage.” It said that through its free cross-platform developer toolkit, the appMobi XDK, it provides mobile application and web developers with “the most complete integrated set of hosted tools and services.”

According to the company, the appMobi XDK provides integrated tools to test and publish HTML-based code as either native apps or web apps. Whether native or web, apps can use native device features such as an accelerometer, camera, GPS and file system.

With regard to the new features, 1Touch Frictionless Payments enables in-app purchases within apps or websites through a “highly-secure mobile wallet on the device and a few lines of HTML code,” integrating with payment gateways including PayPal, and with operator billing. pushMobile notifications will enable the push delivery of rich media messages including video, audio and HTML5 content, with targeting based on device, geography, demographics or other criteria. statMobi enables advertisers and webmasters to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and content, measuring usage both online and offline to offer an “always-on” analytics tool. And the OTA updating will enable developers to push new content, features, bug fixes and app releases to users without requiring an app-store update.
