Unstrung notes that Sweden’s Tele2 is keen to expand its operations in Russia, which the operator has singled out as a key growth market. Tele2 wants to increase its footprint in the country by buying either new licenses or other service providers “in certain regions in Russia, not everywhere,” president and CEO Harri Koponen commented on its third-quarter earnings call yesterday. “We continue to selectively look for acquisitions in the Russia region when it fits with our corporate DNA and our numbers.”
