HTC is reported to have reshuffled its management responsibilities – again – as it looks to rebuild its smartphone business.

According to Bloomberg, the company has appointed Edward Wang as acting CFO. He replaces Chang Chialin, who will increase his focus on his role as head of global sales for the ailing vendor.

Wang was previously associate VP of finance and accounting. Chang added sales to his remit late last year.

The move is the latest in a long line of changes at the company, which has seen a number of executives heading for the door.

GigaOM reported earlier this week that Scott Croyle, HTC’s design head, is leaving the company, although this was said to appear “amicable” as he will stay on with the company during a transition period.

HTC’s chairwoman Cher Wang was previously said to have taken on some additional responsibility for sales, marketing and supplier relationships from Peter Chou, in order to enable the CEO to focus on product development activities.

Last year, it parted company with its global operations head and its chief product officer, as well as losing executives responsible for the EMEA and South Asia regions.

It was reported earlier this month that Paul Golden, former head of marketing for Samsung’s US mobile unit, had joined HTC as an advisor to the chairwoman.
