ZTE confirmed it will unveil “a range of high-performance smartphones and consumer electronics products” at CES2014 next week, including a new flagship handset, a smart watch, and phablet with dual-screen functionality.

“ZTE has been developing a portfolio of fantastic consumer electronics on top of the smartphones for which we’ve become well known. This year, we shall be focusing on pairing unique designs with unparalleled technology in order to offer customers the best possible experience at an affordable price,” Zeng Xuezhong, ZTE EVP and head of its Mobile Device Division, said in a statement.

The company described its planned Grand S II as its “first precision voice phone”, with features such as voice recognition unlocking and “voice-to-phone photography”.

It is also extending its Nubia handset line with the Nubia 5S and Nubia 5S Mini. They are powered by quadcore Qualcomm processors, and feature “professional-grade photography hardware and software characteristic of the Nubuia series”.

Nubia 5S has a 5-inch screen, a 13MP camera and supports 4K video capture. The smaller unit has a 4.7-inch display.

Finally for handsets, the company is to offer a new 4G smartphone in partnership with Aio Wireless. Sonata 4G is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, has a 4-inch display, and includes a 5MP main camera.

Shifting to what the company tagged “the larger-format side of the spectrum”, ZTE is set to debut a phablet tagged “Iconic”. In addition to a 5.7-inch HD screen and wireless charging, it features a “smart viewer” that enables to apps to be simultaneously displayed on the screen.

And finally, the company will introduced BlueWatch. The smart watch features a built-in pedometer, and records and analyses data, “giving users access to interesting ‘quantified self’ information like body fat percentage”.

It tethers to a smartphone via Bluetooth, enabling on-wrist control of calls, content, photography and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
