South-East Asian operator group Axiata has approached Indian operator Idea Cellular regarding the potential acquisition of more than 8,000 towers as it looks to boost its international business, reports the Times of India. According to banking sources, Axiata – which has a 20 percent stake in Idea Cellular – is looking to merge the Indian company's towers to create a unified tower business across seven markets.
