HTC said that shipments of its flagship One X and EVO 4G LTE devices into the US market have been delayed, due to a review of shipments by the customs authorities following an earlier ITC exclusion order.

According to Reuters, this is related to an earlier dispute with Apple, which won a “narrow victory” against the Taiwan-based handset maker late last year. HTC had said that it has a workaround in place to avoid future infringements, but inspections are needed to ensure that this is the case.

The report said that some shipments of the One X have already reached the country, enabling a launch to take place, but availability is now constrained.

HTC has announced poor results recently, as an aging product line and increased competition impacted sales of its devices. At the GSMA Mobile World Congress in February 2012 it announced its One portfolio, which is intended to reinvigorate its high-end smartphone range.

The vendor has not yet stated if the US issues will have a material impact on its results for the current period.
