Apple has signed up plenty more banks and retailers willing to support its payment service, according to The New York Times.
New companies that have recently started to work with Apple Pay include SunTrust, Barclaycard and USAA, the US Automobile Association. Ten more banks are being unveiled as supporters . They include TD Bank North America and Commerce Bank.
Apple Pay now supports cards representing about 90 per cent of the credit card purchase volume in the US.
The report said “dozens” more companies had signed up in recent weeks.
The name of more retailers was also released, including office supplier Staples which will now accept payments from the NFC-based service at its 1,400 locations. Grocers Winn-Dixie and Albertsons accept Apple Pay too.
