Revenue generated from mobile roaming will surpass US$80 billion by 2017, according to Juniper Research, accounting for 8 percent of billed operator revenue. The increase – from US$46 billion in 2012 – will be driven by the rise in data usage and declining roaming charges, especially in the EU, which will increase the number of active mobile roamers, the firm says.
