Indian property group Unitech has offered to buy the 67.25 percent stake in its mobile joint venture Unitech Wireless (Uninor) held by Norwegian partner operator Telenor, reports the Times of India. The bid of INR269 billion (US$54.8 million) was made in a petition before the Company Law Board which accused Telenor of being oppressive and acting in bad faith following disagreements over management and funding of the joint venture. Telenor initiated a US$1.65 billion rights issue at Uninor towards the end of September, warning Unitech to back the move or face being replaced.
