Japan’s NTT Docomo recorded the most net new subscriber gains in the fiscal year ended 31 March 2010 – the first time it has topped the pile in four years – according to data published yesterday by the Telecommunications Carriers Association of Japan, notes TeleGeography. DoCoMo signed up a net 1.481 million new contracts. The operator beat SoftBank Mobile into second position, which reported a net increase of more than 1.243 million new users; SoftBank had topped the list in each of the two previous years. KDDI was in third-place, followed by eMobile.
