Qualcomm has been given permission to use 4G broadband spectrum in India two years after paying US$1 billion to secure it at auction, according to Reuters sources. However the usage period for the spectrum has been cut by 18 months due to a delay in securing an internet service license, while the 4G services must be rolled out within three and a half years rather than the five given to other auction winners.
