Swedish operator TeliaSonera and Russian partner Altimo will appeal a Moscow court ruling regarding their planned merger of ownership in telecom operators Turkcell and MegaFon, reports Dow Jones Newswires. The Russian court June 22 ruled in favour of a claim by AF Telecom, a major MegaFon owner, that TeliaSonera’s and Altimo’s plans for the company should be declared null and void, TeliaSonera said, but added that the court decision yet hasn’t come into force. “Altimo and TeliaSonera disagree with the court’s decision and believe that it is based on an insufficient analysis of facts and applicable rules and statutes,” the Swedish company said.
