Reuters reports that shares in chipmaker STMicroelectronics fell today as losses at its ST-Ericsson joint venture offset the second-quarter profit and stronger-than-expected sales forecast it published overnight. ST-Ericsson reported a second-quarter net loss of US$139 million as sales fell roughly 18 percent to US$544 million. This sent ST-Micro’s shares down 3 percent.
