US mobile operator Sprint has reached agreement with three mobile health vendors – Acadian Monitoring, Daya Medicals and Healthspot – to provide them with wireless connectivity.  The operator and M2M provider Reflection Solutions are working with Acadian Monitoring Services to provide remote health monitoring over Sprint’s network. Acadian employs healthcare professionals to monitor the data coming from patients including their location, health, physical activity, fall detection and medical alerts.

Sprint is also working with DayaMed, a firm which is developing a telehealth hub to provide patients with precise medication doses and instructions. The hub is called the MedPod.  The firm sends can send alerts to any of a patient’s medical carers. Sprint is to supply embedded wireless connectivity for the MedPod.  The third partner for Sprint is HealthSpot which offers a virtual doctor’s office called the HealthSpot Care4 Station. Again, Sprint is working to embed wireless connectivity in the product.
