RIM has previewed the updated version of its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet at CES 2012. The PlayBook 2.0 will include a unified inbox which includes built-in email support as well as messaging capabilities for social network sites. The first version of the PlayBook required a BlackBerry smartphone to be connected to provide email access. Users can now also use their BlackBerry smartphone to act as a remote keyboard for their PlayBook. The update is due for release in February. RIM also revealed an update to its mobile device OS. BlackBerry 7.1 – available now – incorporates the new BlackBerry Tag NFC feature, allowing users to share information on their devices by tapping them against another device.
