Reuters said that credit card company Visa is joining a contactless commerce pilot initiated by rival MasterCard, which enables customers to buy New York subway tickets by waving compatible cards or smartphones over a reader at the entry turnstile. Visa is involved in a number of similar pilots, including work with Bank of America which is also under way in New York.
