The proposed acquisition of Polish number two operator Polkomtel by a firm held by Polish businessman Zygmunt Solorz-Zak has been approved by the country’s antitrust regulator, reports Dow Jones Newswires. The OUKiK decision to approve the US$4.76 billion deal, first agreed in June, paves the way for the expansion of Solorz-Zak’s media and communications interests, which already includes television broadcaster Cyfrowy Polsat.
