Reuters reports that Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, a Polish media entrepreneur, is leading the bidding for mobile operator Polkomtel, having bid PLN18 billion (US$6.3 billion) for ownership of the country’s biggest operator. Solorz-Zak launched free-to-air commercial TV channel Polsat in 1991, and is also a shareholder in pay TV provider Cyfrowy Polsat.
