US tier-two operator Leap Wireless reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of US$96.2 million for the quarter to 31 March 2011, compared with a loss of US$68.0 million in the first quarter of 2010, on revenue of US$779.9 million, up 14.1 percent. In a statement, Doug Hutcheson, Leap’s president and CEO, said that: “first quarter gross additions were solid, even as we absorbed expected reductions in customer additions due to creating a simpler path for existing customers to upgrade.”
